Once Upon a Festival

11th August 2018 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

BSL Interpreted Event
BSL Interpreter: Lyn Chase

Due to last year’s popularity, Once Upon a Festival returns this summer! With fun activities to see and do, there’s something for the whole family. Expect storytelling, creative workshops, outdoor theatre, music and much more…

Events include:

Dodo’s Dream, Circle of Two

When the clock strikes twelve, magic begins and a doll comes to life… Inspired, amongst others, by the myth of Pygmalion and the tales of E.T.A. Hoffmann, this is a poetic pantomime that blends circus, theatre and puppetry. Dodo the Inventor creates the perfect creature to enlighten his lonely heart… An impossible love story!

Red Riding Hood, Booster Cushion

Little Red Riding Hood’s friend arrives to tell us the story but has a problem, there are no pages in the book! He tries to tell the story and we meet Red Riding Hood’s mum, dad and grandma but he keeps getting the story wrong. So Cinderella arrives to help, dancing a conga with her Jack’s Baked Beans Band and suggests auditions to find the Wolf to end the story.
