Live, Laugh, Rage at Shameless! Festival

16th November 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm

BSL Interpreted Event.

BSL Interpreters: Sharan Thind & Rebekha Spencer.

Have you dreamt of revenge, revolution and thrilling retribution against the suffocation of a patriarchal sovereignty and the violence enacted against marginalised genders? We have!
As part of the Shameless! Festival of Activism Against Sexual Violence, WOW invite performance artist and academic Phoebe Patey-Ferguson, author and award-winning commentator and public speaker Mona Eltahawy, and authors and activists Chardine Taylor Stone and Jennifer Jackson to hold space to rage about the tangled mess of systemic violence, and how it enables and perpetuates violence against us in this lively online panel discussion.
We’re often made to feel fearful of speaking up, but can rage be used as a force for imagining and enacting a different world? Is righteous rage essential to our collective survival and would it be impossibly beautiful to release it?
This event will be BSL interpreted and takes place as a Zoom webinar, details of which will be sent to audiences post booking. Tickets are Pay What You Can.
This event is held in the run up to the inaugural Shameless! Festival of Activism against Sexual Violence taking place on 27 Nov. Produced by SHaME and WOW – Women of the World, this much needed festival will revolutionise conversations around sexual violence; burst open inherited ideas of shame; and empower everyone to create a collective, transformative shift within society to say enough is enough, sexual violence must end.
This event will address sensitive and difficult subjects. Please use your discretion if attending with people under the age of 18.
